yeah, so I checked this afternoon on the ride home. The buttons are dim when the car is rolling, but as I come to a stop light they become active and I am able to use them. I typed addresses, searched POIs, etc. It all appears to work even with the green wire disconnected. As soon as the light goes green and the car is rolling the lights go dim again. Strange I know.

I can access the menus when stopped at a red light, engine running. Just seems odd to me. Some functions are "dim" when the car is in motion, and full functionality (as far as I can tell) comes back when the car stops. Those functions that were "dim" are now "bright". Hope that makes sense.

So, I installed the U310 last night. I ran out of time before I could hook up the parking brake wire. I planned on doing it as the manual states, I was not going to bypass it. I just left the wire unconnected. This morning I drive to work and the GPS is functioning normally, as far as I can tell. Some functions are dim and cannot be accessed, but as soon as I stop the car those functions light up and I am able to input addresses and such. The GPS knows if you are moving are not. Am I missing something by not actually hooking up the green wire? Any problems with leaving it as is and not
