  1. I did post the video in the original post. Here is the link. It shows iPhone working with my Kenwood DNX8120. I also show what you need to do to make sure the video is output from iPhone. Here is the video
  2. that was dispointing. I was happy to see it working with my Kenwood 8120 and thought it should work well with Avic F series. Well I am really going to keep my Kenwood for sure and not getting the F90bt. Thank you for confirming.
  3. Here is an article about the new video out issue from ipodlounge.com http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/news/c ... o-add-ons/
  4. i am very sure that you wont get any video output on iphone or ipod touch without using the Apple composite cable which has an authentication chip in it. what cable did you use with d3?
  5. it should work. The control is through USB. iPhone and iPod Tounch wont output video without authentication chip in the cable
  6. I just posted my workaround to get Video output from my iPhone to Kenwood DNX8120 in another post. I assume this will also work with AVIC F units. I hope someone will try it and report it back. I have been messing around with my DNX8120 and my iphone. Like some of you I was frustrated with the lack of video support for my iPhone. I finally got it working with the Apple Composit AV Cable and a few adaptors. I am posting here because I think this solution will probably work for the AVIC users. The total cost is around $57. This can replace the standard Kenwood/Pioneer ipod cable ($30). I

Instruction: I had the original kenwood interface iPod cable that I purchased with the DNX8120. One thing I know in the new iPod Touch and iPhone is
  8. I don't have a F Series unit yet. But I can provide some comparison between the Z and DNX8120. I had a Z1 (with Z3 upgrade HDD) until about a month ago when I decided to install the DNX8120 in my car. I will do a quick review and comparison between these two units. My Z1 had the iPod, XM NavTraffic, and Bluetooth options. My DNX8120 has the Sirius module. Advantages of DNX8120: 1) iPod interface on Z3 is really slow and almost unusable. DNX8120 iPod user interface is amazingly fast. You also get a Album Art with multiline display. You also get both Audio/Video from the iPod co
  9. Jason, Do you recommend the Avic Z users to upgrade? I really like the new Bluetooth support and new ipod control. I don' like the smaller screen.
  10. How is Bluetooth sound quality? I just installed Kenwood DNX8120 in my car. The quality on the other end is really bad. I have been playing around with the mic placement (kind of remind me when I got my Avic Z1). This is very important to me as I talk in the car a lot. Thanks for the preview.
  11. Can you play video from iPhone through the ipod cable?
