  1. Hi outcastrc, Playback on iPod vs Android is very similar - I do prefer the iPod though simply because I leave it in my car all the time and when I do short journeys, I don't have to mess about connecting it up like I do with my phone. If I am doing a short journey somewhere I just keep my phone in my pocket. Also - iPod music starts playing almost instantaneously where as it takes a while for the phone to connect then select the media player app... The iPod I am using isn't officially supported but it works with nor problems - including playback of apple lossless files!
  2. I agree, much nicer price - big fan of Torque but decided to get dash command when I got the AppRadio - if/when torque starts working with AppRadio I might switch back, DashCommand isn't as responsive as Torque and seems a bit rougher around the edges - does the job though and looks pretty awesome. I did read somewhere that Torque was being modified to work with the AppRadio - although I am hoping there will be full Android control sometime in the near future. Will try out your tasker profiles later and let you know how I get on. Which version of Android are you using?
  3. Hello, I didn't buy the Pioneer adaptor - to many dollars! I bought an MHL adaptor from Amazon and a mucky pups 3.1 amp cigarette socket charger (has 2 USB ports 1x 2.1amp and 1 x 1amp, phone connected to 2.1amp port). I did have a Belkin 1amp model before but it was pants - the phone consumed more than the charger could output so it discharged when connected. Seems to be ok now - battery level increases when connected. Hope this is useful.
  4. Also thought I would mention I also have my iPod classic connected (30gb - works great), both cables fed into my armrest - did think about just sticking the iPod in the glove box as I never need to touch it - but thought if I ever get an iPhone I wont have to bugger about taking my dash apart again - future proofing!
  5. Hi All, I used an MHL adaptor from amazon - cant work out how to post links but it was £12, it got one that had the adaptor built into the hdmi connector itself - this way i don't have the annoying box bit and short cable to attach to the phone. I installed a second cigarette lighter socket behind my dash and am using a mucky pups 2.1 amp usb charger to feed the MHL adaptor power. I would recommend getting a decent car charger - the Belkin 1 amp one I had could not charge the phone fast enough so even though it was charging - the consumption rate when using an app like Waze or DashCommand
  6. Hi All, Picked up the App Radio 2 a couple of weeks ago and am loving it - especially love dashcommand - connected via bluetooth to an ODBII adaptor - looks great in the dash (Alfa Romeo Spider 2008). I have an HTC sensation running the Revolution 6.6.7 rom. So far, the only Tasker profile I have tried is to switch between the 2 keyboards. I have set up a profile that switches the keyboard (using the Keyboard Swap plugin - root only) when the device connects to the appradio bluetooth profile, works perfectly. What I really want though is for the screen to unlock as well when the ph
  7. Good afternoon all, Just thought I would share my experience with the App Radio 2 (SPH-DA100). I bought the UK model from Halfords and can confirm that the switch or relay is not needed for the UK model (at least for the model I have anyway...). I simply connected the handbrake wire to the ground on vehicle wiring harness and I am able to access all menus at any time - including youtube etc when I have my phone connected (HTC Sensation). I have installed the unit in my Alfa Romeo Spider (2008), at some point I will put up some pics and installation guide over on Alfa Owner and post a l
  8. Tried and tested on F500, fully working! Had some trouble downloading, had to download a couple of the files from different locations as they would not unzip.... Many thanks!
  9. Hi Guy's, Just thought I would share my screen I made for my F500, I have it installed in my Alfa 147, I will try and get some pics of the install sometime but in the meantime here is the background I use.... Ali
  10. Hi Everybody, I have recently installed Diaftia's Hybrid mods V2.3 EU version (I am in the UK), and since the installation, I can no longer here and voice during navigation - all volumes are turned up and I have tried both the US and UK voices and neither seem to work. I am using the unit with the ND-500 amp and when it should say something, the amp does kick in and mute my radio for a couple of seconds just nothing is announced. I have tried using the unit stand-alone and changed the output to built in speaker and still the same problem. No navigation voice ever! I have spent quite
