  1. Good idea, that may be it. I ordered the cable from newegg.com and everything was the same including the cable name, it has worked with the the Pioneer AVIC X920BT in all other functions. But, I suppose in a legalistic sense there could be an issue with the Pandora link and that particular cable. Thanks. Don't know that I'll swap the cable just for Pandora - but you could very well be right.
  2. I have Pandora iPhone version 3.1.3, plays fine on the iPhone - no problems. But, When I put it on m X920BT (firmware on the Pioneer is new 2.0003 ) with 3G connection I don't see the album art and none of the touch buttons on the screen are active (x920BT). The iPhone displays the "hook-up" screen. I do get sound though. I tried Wi-Fi from my garage and still no album art of hard ware. I've go higher quality audio turned off. Thoughts?
  3. This is the X920BT just like the subject. I see it now after I held the upper left hand corner. It was still confusing tho, it said platform version 2.003 and system version 2.000. But, I guess it installed properly. Thanks.
  4. Folks, what is going on is Pioneer's fault. When I click on the link for the X920BT, it links to the AVIC Z110.ZIP file. Check it yourself, I put it below. Yes, I realize the models are similar. But, it could explain why I replicate exactly what is in this thread. My service panel has the 2.0000 firmware, just like described here. I downloaded, unzipped it, put the folder on the microSD and that didn't work. Next I copied the "Guts" of the folder to the root. Didn't work. That is when I realized this link was wrong. Even the instruction sheet Pioneer has mixes the terms "X920BT" and "Z
  5. I got the contacts to synch from the Nexus One. Looks like the BT-initiated calls from the X920 are working. But, how do we navigate to a "contact" ??? Some of the implementation here is so silly - I see discussion on converting contacts to POI and also with AVIC feeds. WHY??? Can't we just have an option to navigate to the contact rather than just call? Did I miss something? I thought the X920 repaired some of these issues found in older models.
  6. Can you carefully explain how to do this again, I see multiple playlists like you say above. But, I just don't see how it works at all as each of the playlists are empty. I rebooted iTunes and it looks like it is analyzing, but real slow. I did find a help file after searching, it is more on the web: http://www.avicfeeds.com/avicfeeds/musi ... /index.htm Thanks.
  7. I have a Nexus One with Android 2.2 installed. I guess Android bars BT initiated calls (didn't know this when I bought it if there is a work around please post), but I was expecting to import contacts for easy GPS use. I've not tried USB import. All around BT seems like a 'rip off' feature with Android, all I can do is send audio out on a MP3. Out of the box, the iPod is the way to go. Was looking to play Pandora and AT&T capped data rates so that was why I went with the Nexus. Wish the head unit had some Android features. I never saw Musicsphere as much of an iPod incentive and now se
  8. I don't think Musicsphere has been approved by the iTunes store yet, has it? Just pandora and the avic feeds apps.
  9. Just put mine in a 2002 Mustang the other day- I really like it although don't have much to compare. My PND does a better job with street names, so I hear ya on that one. These units seem to lock on to satellites really quickly though, put my antenna under the dash and does fine. Video does best playing from the iPod Touch - but not played with different settings yet or put on SD. I don't like how the video stretches out though - since I have a 3G 60GB iPod the videos are not the key drawing factor. I also put the BT mike above the steering wheel and it works fine. Really disappointed in the i
  10. I did get mine from newegg.com - just search for the CD-IU50V. I think it was $29.99 shipped ( Item#: N82E16882461008) . I also found one on ebay (Chinese seller), but didn't buy it at $6.99 plus $14.99 shipping (yea right). For what it is worth, my 24 hours with the newegg.com cable works fine - charges the iPod Touch and plays video - the insert inside the bag said "for Pioneer head units" or similar.... so yes, you can skimp penny-wise "within reason." I am just having fun with my bypassed X920 !!! Thanks for your help people !!! Maybe this little note is a payback.
  11. OK, now I see. It is the same. I didn't understand. Thanks for your help.
  12. Sorry, there is no blank on the underside of the harness. You were right, that was the factory adapter first pics. These are from the X920 harness.
  13. I am terribly disappointed, the harness doesn't have a blank slot next to it and it is no longer white plastic. There are two blank ones on the bottom though. Manufacturing date on this is March 2010. The harness is black plastic, smooth (so nothing to trim with a razor blade) and there is something that looks completely different from all the pics here and web videos on youtube.
  14. There's some issue possibly with sound track, are you encoding these in STEREO or 2 channel? If the movie gets encoded with 5.1 sound it might choke. NOTE: I do see in the above that it was formatted 2 channels.'' My unit is arriving next week, so can't test this only offer a suggestion. Don't know for sure, but I do all my movie encodes with Nero - they have a output format for iPod that is an MP4. Guess as a last resort you just play movies through the iPod.
  15. I was looking at RDS support in the store demo, also disappointed with the little space used to display the info. Seems like the lower end Pioneer models do RDS better - devoting two lines. Wish they would fix it, minor. I was wondering about the street names, wonder why it isn't always say them. Anyway, I went ahead and ordered it. Can't wait till it comes. I am a new Pioneer user, so bottom line I still felt this was night and day ahead of competitors and maybe not worth the extra money they will be asking for the Z120. I did go ahead and install Pandora (just came out) on the iPod Touch.
