  1. I had my D3 installed at Bestbuy. Later I had a custom alarm installed at Fry's in Renton. In my opinion, Fry's did better work, and you know they have the best prices! They are worth a look.
  2. On my setup, I have an Xbox feeding the rear LCD. That way, the rear can have Xbox source the DVD or game, and the front can have the same or something else. The sound goes with whatever the front is doing. The rear LCD has wireless headphones for the kids, but we dont use them much... Here's a pic:
  3. I decided to work around the problem like this. I cut the wires to the rear speakers, and wired them into the D3 speaker outputs. Now they are playing strong again. Thanks for all your help!
  4. Thanks man, I've got that exercise down pat, and can get the console and radio out in 10 minutes. I never noticed the amp anywhere inside the console, that's the mystery to me. Neat hummer forum site! I searched there and didn't find anything about the amp...
  5. No just the fronts are connected per the install instructions. I tried connecting the rear and it stopped making any sound at all. Had me worried a few minutes that I messed something up. After I disconnected and restarted everything, it returned to normal. Hey installthis06, why would that idea not work? Just wondering. Yeah LV_H2, let me know about your fader. Right now my mid and rear sounds like some weak surround sound, but that's par for the course from what I'm reading about the gmos-04 adapter. Thanks Anyone know where the Bose amp is found?
  6. I'm pretty sure I have it installed right. The front passengers have good sound, but the mid and rear speakers sound weak. This module doesnt support fader. The factory stereo fader was balanced front/rear when I removed it. I have this idea to make it better. The D3 RCA outs for rear are unused. Maybe there's enough power there to drive the mid/rear speakers, and make them louder? Can anyone tell me where is the Bose amp? I was thinking of disconnecting the rear speakers from the Bose amp, and run them direct into the D3 RCA rear outs. What do you think? Thanks in advance!
  7. The only issue I ever had with my setup of iPod 80gb + D3, was when I rock the music loud, the volume starts fading in/out badly. Like it was overloaded. It may be the combination of extra bass in the iPod eq settings? I dunno but it's frustrating, because the factory radio + CD can rock at MAX volume but my iPod + D3 can't...
  8. I've got one EAST disc, still in the factory sealed wrapper. How about $25 shipped?
  9. Update: Pix of AVIC-D3 stolen It really sucks when you work hard on something then some jackass has to ruin it. I've got insurance to replace it all, but still a pain, and the next time I will have some suprises when they try it again!
  10. Hey LV, Mine was installed at Best Buy, and they did not hook up the VSS. I called them afterwards and they explained they normally don't hook it up! I just learned to live with it. I did some hunting and it appears the signal is under the hood so I didn't bother. I compared the actual MPH speed to the AVIC-D3 reported speed and it's within 1mph most of the time anyway. They left off the illumination too! The excuse there was they have had trouble with other systems messing up the electronics. Whatever! I hooked that up myself by tapping into the wire in the shifter console there are 2
  11. Thanks for the comments! Hey Bobbo, here's a pic of the back side where you can see the camera mounted above the license plate.
  12. Just got everything hooked up and working nice, with steering wheel controls. This is really a fun system!! Great NAV, iPod video, game console input, 17" widescreen rear LCD, and the front/rear screens can watch the same or 2 different things. Check it out! Thanks AVIC411 for the info and Crutchfield for the smokin deal!! [/url]
  13. I talked with Pac Audio today they mentioned that SWI-PS may have compatibility issues with Metra VT-GMOS-04 GM Class II Data bus Interface (for door chime and On Star). One known issue is buttons lose functionality or operate for no reason. I was given a remedy by using a SPDT relay to connect the SWI-PS and the Metra power. 85- Metra Red Acc power wire 86- Gnd 87- Yellow 12v wire from D3 30- SWI-PS Red Acc power wire It may be a while before I rip it apart and try. Hope this helps someone!
