  1. This is the reason i ask : Upgraded from 1.9 to 3.021 and the improvement was massive, well the booting still isn't quick but the touch screen sensitivity is 1000 x better!!
  2. What firmware version have you got on the unit?
  3. I had the same problem with the italy map and i had to use the par files to repair the rar files.
  4. Have at least 100 folders on a 16gb card...never had an issue.
  5. http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/28083-pioneer-ipod-cables-purchased-on-ebay/ You don't have a cheapy cable do you? The apple one is the business, anything else not so good.
  6. I didn't go for it in the end as the update for the f900 is pretty much just maps, no UI upgrades or anything.
  7. Try a different version of testmode? I only have to put testmode on an sd and leave it in the unit and it boots straight up.
  8. This is what i got when i asked them about the new updates : http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/31963-newest-pionner-update-cnsd-200fm/page__view__findpost__p__234751
  9. Most mods will be over written, most of them you can reload and will work on the new firmware.
  10. You're dealing with monkeys if you go to hellfords. Try these guys, if they haven't got it then no one has : http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/

It will not upgrade your GUI. Yes, i believe the maps are teleatlas.
  12. Oh, forgot to say. The big 3 are 1. Alternator pos to Battery. 2.Battery ground cable. 3. Engine ground cable.
  13. I've cured ground loop issues like this before by running the earth for the headunit back to the amp and grounding them at the same point. I always would have thought that the body would be a good earth wherever in the car, but i guess there can be interference. I don't agree that upgrading the big 3 will help eliminate the alternator whine. I've always run my rcas down the centre of the car with the power cables on the left side and the speaker cables on the right. I've done this just to avoid any possible interference and it's done the trick for me over the years.
  14. I live in a part of england where most of the roads were probably built by the romans so i've never even considered buying a map update for any sat nav product i've owned. I may have upgraded my firmware to V.3 without paying, but i don't have the newest firmware or the newest maps so i doubt pioneer even care. Surely if it's not a current product, it doesn't matter! Let's face it, if they did care they would be doing something about this site!
  15. That's exactly what mine did. Sorry i wasn't as descriptive. In other audio systems i would say it was a bad earth or some kind of ground loop, but i don't know the exact technology behind the iPod output. Are you using a gen apple lead? My iPod is a 5.5G as i was told these offer best sq?
