  1. Hey, I'm wondering if this hack is a one-time only install, or if it should be applied again before updating the maps again. I used it for the 2017 update on my F920BT, but am now wondering if I should run it again when the 2019 update becomes available or if it's a persistent hack that gets preserved after a map+software upgrade.
  2. Just so it can be of help to anyone lurking aroudn here: it did work on my French F920BT. I went from maps 2.00 (2010? anyay) to 7.00 directly. I still have all my normal TTS languages, although I did have to change the "guidance language" from something else back to French, after the update.
  3. Thanks. I am re-downloading the 2017 map update , maybe mine got corrupted somehow. I did update the bluetooth firmware a couple years ago after BT crashed and no phone could be paired at all. So "in theory" that one is more or less up to date and I'm not going to venture into upgrading it if/when I get the map update running. I don't understand why my unit does not pick the SD card I insert with the map update, though. The SD card seems OK since it worked for the shortfuse hack. edit: OK, the SD card was picked up on the first attempt this time. First download must have been
  4. Hey, Thanks for all the great resources. I have a F920BT on which map were _never_ updated (running version 2.00 atm; only update done was the firmware to 2.003 in late 2010). Do I need to update sequentially to other versions before reachign that one ? I've ran the superfuse hack, which seemed successful, but now when I insert the SD card with the map update data, nothing happens (either with the original or modified CARDINFO.CIF. No prompt, nothing. Any idea what I'm doing wrong ? Also, I remember years ago preserving TTS languages was a pain (and that's why I never upgraded). Will
  5. Hi guys, I'va had absolutely no luck in the FxxxBT section, so I'm trying here. My apologies for the double topic, but I'm guessing the X section is a bit more active and afaik x920bt and f920bt are very similar (maybe even the same unit but sold in different continents). I've had my F920BT for quite some time now (probably as long as my account here) and never really upgraded it. I've read topics in this forum (and also in the X series forum, as I believe X920bt and F920bt are really similar units with the X one only sold in the US) and here is my understanding so far: - 2013 maps up
  6. Hi guys, Long time lurker here (actually my account is probably 3-4 yo), and I didn't run into any trouble so far with my french F920 unit. I've had this one for quite some time now (probably as long as my account here) and never really upgraded it. I've read topics in this forum (and also in the X series forum, as I believe X920bt and F920bt are really similar units with the X one only sold in the US) and here is my understanding so far: - 2013 maps updates can be found here (which is nice, my 2010 (?) maps are not really up to date anymore) and it seems they can be installed on my u
