  1. I have just switched from iPhone4 to iPhone5, and am now having trouble finding a proper way to get audio on the F90Bt. I need to convert the lightning cable to 20 pin in order to plug it in to the unit, but multiple items I have bought on Amazon to do so have failed, even the ones with the audio plug going in to the bottom as well. I am aware this is about digital to analog conversion and that the Apple branded lightning cable will work, but I am trying to find a way that does not cost as much. $35 for a simple cable is hard to swallow. Has anyone had any success with other cables
  2. Anyone here have the 3.0 mods that adds shortcut menus and mute voice guidance tweaks? The links around this site are dead and I would love those mods back.
  3. The last place I can see it was hosted is here: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/22844-complete-30-install-guide/page__view__findpost__p__167147 However that no longer works. I would very much appreciate if someone could host the file if they have it. Thanks!
  4. I've been trying to install 3.0 with trouble, so I would love to hear if this is an OFFICIAL way to get 4.0 firmware. Would we need to do anything to the WinCE image, or just replace the "My Flash Disk" folder with what is in this zip?
  5. Same here. Would love to get around this. Maybe someone could upload their image of the update they used? Or is there any way to determine why we're getting this message? I've got an f90bt and I've seen others confirm they've got theirs updated. Thanks!
  6. I've tried reinstalling this 3 times, but consistently get the "System is starting up" message on the screen. I'm not even sure where I got my 3.0 image from at this point. Could someone upload the one they used on their system to megashare or something? That would be so awesome. Really would love to get this working ASAP. Thanks!
  7. Real good point there. Seriously. We are eligible for free firmware updates, and it's rather cheap that Pioneer isn't putting these firmware packages out on their own. It's a money grab to force people in buying the maps. Updating the firmware itself should be an option, and what many people have done and what I plan to do, shouldn't be considered illegal because installing the firmware is not pirating any sort of license.
  8. Wow, that does look much better. Looks like 3.0 might be worth it. It's just so hard to justify that extra money, having paid so much for the unit as it is. So there's NO way to get just the firmware update without having to pay for the maps?
  9. Thanks for all the info. Is there much improvement in the firmware itself from 2.0 to 3.0? As you said, going from 3.0 to 4.0 doesn't seem worth it just for the maps and bluetooth update. Is there anything in Firmware 3.0 itself that is worth the upgrade? Advancements to the system itself or anything? Really wish Pioneer documented this stuff better. Thanks again.
  10. Thanks for the information. I believe I am only on Firmware 2.0 -- was that the last free update prior to the maps coming along with firmware? Are there noticeable changes from 2.0 to 3.0, or was that just to accept the new maps as well? There's a chance I'm mistaken and could actually be on 3.0.
  11. So there were no more improvements with boot-up time or anything else? The new firmware solely allows the new maps? And I thought Garmin map updates were free for life? Granted I heard it on a commercial or something awhile ago and that could be completely untrue.
  12. I honestly don't think I can justify $120 for those features. I understand the licensing part of it, but having paid so much for the unit(and having it perform so poorly at times), it's hard to justify. That money could be spent buying a better GPS with free map updates. Is there any way to just get the firmware update itself? I can deal without the map, POI, and BT updates. There's no way those are worth $120.
  13. So there's no way to upgrade to firmware 3.0 without buying this upgrade? I'm only finding it for $120, which is a bit steep for maps and a firmware update.
  14. Hello, I used to post here awhile ago, maybe 2 years. Looks like the forums have changed. Anyways, I'm looking for the latest firmware update, which I believe I found here: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/GPS-Navigation/AVIC-F90BT Version 2.0080 correct? I'm also looking for updated maps, and I haven't been able to find those anywhere. I remember seeing awhile back that Pioneer bundled the new firmware and maps for a cheaper price for people who wanted to upgrade early. I didn't do that at the time, and would like to get those maps now. Again, this is for the F90BT and I'm
