great write up... i have a 2002 tundra sr5 and put my d3 in it this weekend... i am wondering too if your vss wire worked out.. i was told it was my yellow/red wire.. .. and to datacrypt goto the 12 volt .com and look up the illumination wire.. the harrnesse should be color to color.. myn works great and dims with the headlight stalck as you turn the head lights on the screen dimms and when you turn then off the get bright 8)

Hi i an a total noob with this head unit .. its the avic d3 head unit.. i found it in my car audio pile... i cleaned it up and pluged her in and was like wow im putting that into my new winter car.. 2002 tundra v8 sr5 4x4 with rear diff lock .. not trd though... lifed 3 inchs on full suppention kit and added leafs in the back.. springs on an air ride... ik its alot but hey i need it for the long upstate ny winter... so i have no idea about the head unit.. when i turn her on the screen is blank with insert appriote disk ... i think i need to install navi maps because i bought all the stuff
