There are 2 bytes at the end of the file and I thought they might be a checksum, but apparently they are not. Everything else I have figured out.

I am a software engineer and have (nearly) figured out all of the file format for the Avic devices.I made a utility to edit the language files. I have totally customized my stereo including the Caution reverse message. Would anybody else be interested in this utility? It is written as a Windows Utility..

I just wanted to say you guys are awesome!!! I have the AVIC-X930BT and have been very disappointed with the GPS unit and therefore not willing to give them an extra $120. This hack worked perfectly and maybe if they have fixed a bunch of issues, I might be willing to buy this upgrade. Thanks for making this available and I will let you know what I think.
