  1. I was able to capture and overwrite the FX3.1 and it really works great. My F90BT went into the loop in 2012, and then again yesterday, but I was able to reload it again and it worked. My question is: I have a a factory CNSD-300FM SD that I bought from Pioneer, but I hesitate to load it, because I don't want to lose my cool mods. Can I just overwrite the APL2...IGO...content files with copies of the newer maps? I want to keep everything as it is, except I want the newer maps, I don't care about losing the old POIs. The thing I'm curious about is that the file extensions look different bet
  2. slickdeuce, Don't spend your $$ until you nail down the FX3.1, I thought the 2.008 software was free (one per household) anyway? Are you talking about the Map upgrade? I think that's $130, but it is unlikely that it will get your brick out of re-boot. Hang in there until you are able to get FX3.1, then overwrite your device "Flash disk" files with the flash disk files provided on FX3.1. This is worth the effort needed to get your hands on it. Provide email address.
  3. Slickdeuce, I forgot to mention that the detail street labels are only gone while the GPS is actually guiding me to a destination. While just in Map mode, they read like always. It really is almost better, because the turn by turn directions guide you, and you are not distracted by street labels that don't apply to your destination. I'm very happy with the FX3.1, it seems to work better now than ever, and I've saved the file to a 2GB SD card strictly for that purpose. I think the file is too big for me to just send you, that's why they host it as a .rar file. Sound confusing? It sure was
  4. Slickdeuce, send your email address and I'll PM you. I had to download MIRO, in order to download the FX3.1 file, then had to "unzip" it with winrar. If you download MIRO, add the Piratebay to the sources tab so you can download the FX3.1.rar file. If you get that far, I can try to help guide you through the overwrite. I saved a copy of the procedures, so I could attach it to an email and send it to you. That might help. OK? I'll check later for your email address.
  5. Did you try to hold; Eject, Map, Menu and Reset at the same time with the SD card in there? When the screen goes blank, let go of the reset button but continue to hold menu, map, and eject. I had to do that, then at the blue sceen; Up, UP, Down, Menu, Left, Right to get into the windows screen. I had the same continuous loop of reset, so I had to overwrite my "flash disk" files with the "flash disk" files from FX3.1. I finally got it to work, it took some reading, and several tries.
  6. I had the same thing happen to my F90Bt. I called Pioneer and the first thing he asked me was did I have the parking brake bypass (he said that's why is did the endless reboot thing(?). He said to send it to Pioneer in Long Beach and $230 for a flat fee fix. Well instead I scoured AVIC411 and found reference to FX3.1.rar. So, after many failed attempts, and much reading, I was finally able to download and decompress the FX3.1.rar file. After three tries in the truck, I finally deleted the files in the device's "Flash Disk", and replaced those files with the "Flash Disk" files in FX3.1.rar
  7. Scott1635, I have an F90BT. It started with the "please wait, reboot in progress" over and over two days ago, I couldn't get it to boot up or doing anything else. So I finally figured how to download the FX3.1.rar file, decompress it with winrar, loaded it on to a 2 GB SD card. Then I overwrote the "Flash disk" on the unit with the "Flash disk" file in the FX3.1, and now it works! It took me awhile, I had to really buckle down and read, and download miro, but now it works like a champ. I had to sit in the truck, and with some steady concentration, I finally got it to work. Wow! I was
  8. TOC, did you ever get a working Testmode? I finally was able to download FX3.1.rar (testmode is in there) and I got it to work. My "brick" is now back to being one of the neatest gadgets that I have. No more nag screens, DVD on the fly, great stuff. I took me a while, a lot of reading, lots of trial and error, but it's back better than ever. Just downloaded today (19 Dec 2011). Wow!! Saved me a least $300. I had almost given up and was going to send it to Pioneer. They fussed at me and said it probably failed because of the "hard bypass". Anyway, it works like a charm now.
  9. wingnutphil, forgive my ignorance, I don't get this, my HU is AFU with the endless boot up cycle. Could I possibly pm you to pick your brain on this? Thanks.
