    AVIC X930bt

rpg, have you searched for all related threads on here? Ralpharn has done extensive work on hacking the 930bt, he has made a step through guide on how to hack it. You will need to obtain the Australian Map update; which is not free. I managed to find someone who had it and they sold me a copy for 50 bucks. I bought an EU unit and hacked it to work in Australia.
  2. Hi Pianora, just for your interest, I opened up my unit today and swapped some resistors around to try to change the region code for the DVD player. So far though, I haven't noticed any differences and it hasn't changed the DVD region code.
  3. I just tried changing the resistors inside the unit, and it still didn't change the region code for the DVD player.

    Region hack??

I just tried changing the resistors inside the unit, and it still didn't change the region code for the DVD player.
  5. I just noticed that Pandora is now available in Australia...however it doesn't seem to be enabled on the Australian/EU units. I can see the Aha Radio app but not the Pandora app. Is there anyway to enable this feature on non-US units?
  6. I tried doing a similar thing to get UK English TTS working for my 'pseudo' AU F930BT, using a similar method to what you mentioned Ralpharn, but couldn't get it to work. I reckon its more than just copying folders and files. I have a feeling there are files which need editing. Only once I did the map update which contained the correct language TTS data, was I able to get the voice working. Hopefully it works in Tudors case though...
  7. Even without any modification to my unit, I.e. when I first got it sent from Europe and installed it, there was no issues with receiving all FM/AM stations here, with good clarity. So I don't think its in a issue regardless of the AplLib tweak. One thing I have noticed is that regardless of the state of the unit, every now and then I here a beeping sound while I'm driving. I'm not sure what this is, it may be something to do with the TMC traffic tuner alerting me to red light cameras or something, I'll look into it a bit more..
  8. I successfully installed the update. Initially, I couldn't search by address because my unit was back to thinking its an EU version (Traffic Tuner also was back to not working also). So, I went back to the VR restoration thread where Pionara had a list of device codes. I changed the AplLib.dll as per the version 4.001 offset 1AF94, to '38' which corresponded to 'X15AU0' what I guessed was an Australian F940BT. Well once I did that everything worked. Address search, traffic tuner, australian voice TTS So the unit is acting almost exactly like an AU unit instead of an EU now. I wonder what
  9. Ralpharn, thats great news about being able to search by address I'm hoping to get a copy of the update from frozenwaffles too, just want to confirm its ok with him(her?) before I send the money. Like pionara mentioned, I played around with region code tweaking and managed to get my unit to - at least in some respects - think it was an AU version. Trouble was, when I did that, it was expecting to find all the AU English voice data for turn by turn navigation, but since I have an EU its British English, there was no voice prompts because it was no longer interested in the British English voice
  10. So it looks like we're back to square one.. its been a while since we've heard anything. So if we can get hold of a serial number we can purchase a map update? I wonder if it works only once, otherwise we might be able to get a serial number from a unit in a store.
  11. So has frozenwaffles already purchased an update card? or are we waiting for him to buy it?
  12. So that's 3 people so far? Ralpharn, Singo, and me. $200/3 = ~$67 each. I'm happy to pay that much to upgrade to an x940 with updated map.
  13. I just tried it out, by changing to 2D. Here are my observations: Search function still doesn't work, but now it shows an option to change state (which has a list of states in Australia) which I can select my state. There is no longer a grayed out 'postcode' option, which used to be in place of the now 'state' option. But still when I press either 'street' or 'city', it reverts to the nav map screen. I think this is because I don't have a complete NDATA and USER files from an AU unit. Now, my TMC traffic tuner successfully connects to my local traffic station. Before, it wouldn't show any se
  14. I just compared this to the AplLib.dll from an X930BT NDATA tree dump that someone had uploaded, and it also is 05 at 1ae84. I've got a feeling I'm not looking in the right spot or I'm doing something wrong here..
  15. Ok so from looking at the AplLib.dll that was already on my PC from my backup of NDATA, it looks like my current model code is 05: Which seems to match up with E69JPN from your list above does that sound right? I haven't edited anything yet or tried changing this value to 2D yet. Just thought it was interesting as I was expecting it to maybe be 2A or something... Also, AplLib.dll is in both PRG0 and PRG1. You mentioned in the x930bt-x940bt upgrade thread that if USER\PRG.FLG is not present (which in my case, it is not), then it is using software in PRG0. Does that mean I onl
