I don't believe that harness has a built in steering wheel control interface. You should have to buy that separately. As far as the other problems, make sure the connections are crimped or soldered correctly (no wire nuts) and just double check that all the wires are connected correctly. This gmos harnesses have a good bit of wiring that may not be used. Almost sounds like an issue with a mute wire.

Actually im wrong lol, just found out that the 910 is different than the 920...

I dont know if the x910 is like the x920 but if it is you should be able to hit home and then cancel route.

Lost features upgrading from X930BT to X940BT Firmware
justin13703 replied to kelkin's topic in General
This is weird, I upgraded my 920 to the 940 firmware about 6 months ago, and I just took an 800 mile round trip the other day and mine didnt seem to do that. It still said all the info that it did before. -
If you follow the instructions in the "x920 firmware and map upgrade" or something like that thread, you will have the software from the 940 I believe. I did it to my 920 a few weeks ago and it's identical to a 940 now. And the maps were updated. And the bluetooth was updated. And it was free. Lol

Metra 70-1761 Wiring Question for 2002 Tacoma Pre-Runner
justin13703 replied to DataCrypt's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
I'm sure this issue was solved a while back but in case it wasn't it's simple. The orange wire on the pioneer gets connected to the illumination wire on the harness. Done deal lol. Dimmer, don't use it. The orange/black, don't use it. If you still can't figure it out, get a multimeter, you want to connect the orange wire on the pioneer to the wire that shows no voltage with headlights off, and 12 bolts with them on. This tells the radio it's dark out and dims itself. Do NOT connect to the dimmer wire. This wire will show variable voltage as you increase/decrease your dash lights. -
The fact is that it would just be nice every once in a while to see them release a small update to make them compatable with stuff that may have changed within a few weeks of the radio being released. Pioneer is a big company. They can do it .Like I said I absolutely LOVE my radio and most pioneer stuff, but that doesnt mean that I have to brown nose them all the time; they should take some time to keep some of their newer products compatable with the newest technology.

What is the best way to bypass the parking brake on the X940BT?
justin13703 replied to micnet's topic in Hacks/Mods
If you dont have that harness, you can connect a very small connector to the corresponding pin on that plug on the back of the radio, and connect it with a short wire to the phillips screw right above the plug. -

x920bt firmware and map upgrade to CNSD-210FM for free?
justin13703 replied to Starseed99's topic in Hacks/Mods
Ok so I wanted to try this today and when I tried to open the file that was downloaded from the pirate bay link, it just starts trying to install a bunch of crap on my computer and change my homepage and search engines and stuff. Am I doing something wrong becuase I dont want my computer all jacked to update my radio. I did the 2.003 to 2.004 update and it worked fine, I just cant seem to get to the files in the update from the pirate bay link. Can anybody help me out, I must be doing something wrong. -
I think hes pissed because Pioneer wont bother to take any time to release some updates for a relatively new radio, theyll just tell him that his 800 dollar radio needs replaced with another 800 dollar radio. I love my X920, but their lack of effort to update anything after the release date of any of these radios is pretty disgusting.

Is there any way to turn off the display while driving?
justin13703 replied to micnet's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
What radio do you have? Is your Illumination wire hooked up? It should dim itself when your lights are on. Try holding mode and adjusting the brightness to the level you want it. I know on my X920BT I can turn off the monitor by holding home and going into the settings there is a button in there to turn it off too. -
x920bt video playback pausing itself

Anybody? Lol this is annoying as crap and pioneer is being pretty much useless. Will getting the new GUI interface update possibly fix this?
