  1. SD cards are super big and super cheap now. So I get a 32GB SD card, load it up and away I go, great until I turn off the ignition and next time I get in it starts back at track 1 folder 1. Tiresome. Any ideas what I can do to fix this?
  2. I've been trying to play video files (films) from the SD card and works quite well. Then I turn off the key and when I turn it back on I'm back to the start! Will these units ever remember where they left off?
  3. I have them (came with the maps) but it's too flat around here, if you try them (see my signature) then do report back how you got on.
  4. I would try to upgrade to 4.001 hybrid which starts everything anew. Not too painful to do yourself, just need a 4GB (not sure of exact minimum size) or more SD card.
  5. My unit was in the car I just bought, I've found a relatively new database on poiplaza but if anyone has a current one please do point me to it.
  6. A little text in your signature will appear on all previous posts as well.
  7. I'd like to know the answer to this one, unfortunately it's a bit flat around here so difficult to test and don't want to be playing with this thing on holiday!
  8. Personally I find the mobile cameras a pain as they are rarely there. Seems like the thing is beeping at every other junction. I've used debian Linux to strip these out. debian:~$ wc speedcam.txt 19102 19102 532637 speedcam.txt debian:~$ nawk ' BEGIN { FS = "," } ; $3 != 5 { print } ' speedcam.txt > speedcam2.txt debian:~$ wc speedcam2.txt 7340 7340 204745 speedcam2.txt Stripped down version of the UK Camera POI file attached SpeedcamUpdates.zip
  9. I've just used this to update my F900BT, quite a lot of hassle so a couple of notes: Downloaded iGo8 "Download as speedcam" txt file from poiplaza (their website is giving out viruses so beware, if something unusual pops up shut it down with task manager and run a full scan!). I used spudtxt to convert to spud format but the file had strange carriage return characters (unix maybe) Open the txt file with Wordpad and NOT notepad (PC only) and save it again to clear these spudtxt will now convert file ok Use test mode to copy across to correct location, from memory: my flash disk > apl
  10. Sussed it, test mode included in the hybrid 4.001 files gives you a basic windows environment (Win CE) which you can use to copy and paste them onto the SD card.
  11. I've got a UK F900BT that I'm about to upgrade and am struggling to find out how to backup the existing files! Millions of posts saying that I should but posts saying how are proving elusive. Can anyone enlighten me?
