I purchased one from SWDW, for my girlfriend's D3 and my D2 and he was more than helpful with communication, sharing shipping information, and even offering guidance if you're not as rehearsed with all the updates that may or may have to be done before upgrading to the new discs. Thank you for people like you!

My girlfriend has the D3 and I have the D2, and both of us have not had any issues. We've also tried using them on locations where we knew were faster or shorter to get to, and they have not changed as well, even with a few roads that have been built. One occasion where there was a new(er) highway, it took us through that route in the "Faster" route, and was on the money for time. I'd say we've had a great investment on our D-series navigation units.

What's funny is that my friend has that updated Garmin and both my girlfriend and I have the new updated discs. She has the D3 and I have the D2, and both of us were laughing at him because like you, he bragged so much about the costs of Pioneer's updated discs compared to his Garmin. We went to a mutual birthday party this past weekend, and the road where the houseparty was located didn't exist on his "new" disc, so he had to call my girlfriend and get directions on how to get there because he knew I'd give him hell. I can see trying to save money on updated navigation discs, but all the crying, and whining is really annoying. Every one of us spent hundreds of dollars on our navigation units, yet they're complaining about every little thing about Pioneer, and how expensive discs are. Well, buy some other name brand and get off the damn site! Quit bitching about how expensive it is. Go in with someone or a couple of people and split the costs. That's a lot less headache than trying to wait for something to fall out of the sky for free. Like a bunch of Hummer owners complaining about gas.

Where the hell do some of you live? Both me and my girlfriend have the D series and we both rely on it heavily to meet each other in the big ass city we live in, and neither one of us have ever had an issue finding each other. She has the D3 and I have the D2. So many people on here bitch and complain about how shitty Pioneer is and their navi systems, well then sell the damn thing and quit wasting posts, and actually research on the navigation unit that you intend on buying before you bitch about how sorry that unit is.

Absolutely no issues buddy. We definitely wouldn't invest on a navigation unit that would just be in the console for looks.

Just to stay on topic, my girlfriend practically drives the same car and hers is mounted in the same location but does not have her entire windshield tinted like mine. She gets full bars, but then again, her "top goes down." Hehe... Mine: Hers:

Yes but I doubt your windshield is 100% covered in tint, too. As for the OP, you should be fine with the non-metallic tint. I have mine mounted in the traditional location of the driver's side corner on the dash and I haven't had any issues with my full windshield covered with metallic tint.

We just installed my girlfriend's D3 on her Eclipse Spyder as well and we have the same problems. The voice guidance setting is turned on and it just beeps with no voice guidance. I have a D2 on my Eclipse and we wired the setup very similar and mine works perfect.

I'm far from a narc, and I apologize if I asked a question in such a way. I'm just like any buyer in the market, reassuring myself the correct item I am requesting. If you felt like I was a narc, you could easily ban me I'm sure instead of just ignoring me. Not to mention I gave you my phone number to clarify things.
