Brand new to the forum hope I did not miss anything in the search under this topic so here goes. Just purchased a repo vehicle with avic n1 and no faceplate so i rolled the dice and purchased a new faceplate for $70 long story short everything works except the screen mechanism so I hit open and gently pulled and it motored out and flipped up. Opened the unit up in hopes of finding a bad ribbon cable but instead found the actual problem with this unit. There is a drive shaft that goes from left to right with 3 gears on it, the innermost gear is cracked and seperating causing it to bind up ever
