which folder would you drop the maps in before (on update SD, which folder) or after update (through service mode and which folder)? thanks!

been meaning to f around with my 700 unit for a while but never got the courage or time to do so but i agree it does suck since i just can't seem to find any solid "tried & tested" info out there, be it files or tuts

I've been reading through tons of pages and I'm only getting more confused... I wish some1 could write up a detailed tut on updating to v4, what it includes (software/maps/speed cams... etc) the pros/cons of such an update or simply, a how-to, if one doesn't require the updated software, just for updating the maps (in my case USA/Canada but I believe the process should be the same for the different regions) I actually don't mind the reading/DIY if I'm sent to an accurate/updated post. the link in previous post talks about updated F90BT (should be same for F series) but is using the X series so

@w4rh4wk: that looks really nice! one question though, how hard would it be to rip the cam off it's socket... I'm just a tad reluctant to install one seeing as it's outside the car... maybe it can placed inside, behind the rear window?

Hello everyone! new to the forum but not new to avic411... Been out of the loop for a while now for 3 yrs, the time of my overseas work contract. Now that I'm back in Quebec and specially after last weekend's trip State side, I realized I needed map updates... Naturally I came here, aside from being all over google's top searches... I was wondering if a mod or the OP would be able to recheck the links in 1st post as they have changed. I won't post my issue here because I want the read/education, have a chance to take a crack at my unit and if sh!t hits the fan... well, I'd ask the questions
