shit, all i know is that my D3 is LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than my N1.. i have ZERO complaints. it led me to a gas station that didnt exist once, and the ipod interface could be better, but it's 10000X better than it was on the N1.. I paid $750 for my N1 on promotion from pioneer when i was an installer and thought that was a smoking deal, after my rebate i got my D3 for $400 and it's far superior than my old N1. Sure, if i had thought about spending over a grand, id have something nicer, but i aint complaining.

got my $200 rebate check today. was worried i wasnt going to because of what people were saying about the fine print. I bought my D3 on amazon from an amazon vendor (not directly from amazon, just through it) for $600 shipped, sold my N1 for about $350 and got my rebate today: so total price paid for my D3: $50 needless to say, Im quite happy. Rebate check took approx 2 months to get to me, I was actually going to try and contact them next week if I hadn't gotten it.

I just ordered mine on amazon from seller 6th ave, both of which are listed on pioneers website. And technically, since 6th ave isn't just an online store (they have many stores in NJ), I could argue that buying it from them online wouldve been the same as ordering from circuit city and getting it that way. Anyways, I paid $632 shipped for the D3 and ipod cable. I was initially interested in the D3X, but no one i know has had good luck getting the bluetooth adapter to work well. The extra money wasnt worth it and the remote and ipod cable are pretty inexpensive on their own. So my break down -

i stumbled accross this post on my search for a solution to this exact problem. and i went out at almost midnight to go try this out on my N1. it responded perfectly to everything related to the service menu, but on the first setup of the X and Y coordinates, I run my finger accross the screen following the white edges, and when i hit the back button i get a red message across the screen that says something like 'not permissible because of outside values.' im not 100% sure what it says or what it means, but i mustve tried it like 30 times to no avail.
