I have a friend with an Australian F940BT, and I'm seeking to do the same thing, possibly buy a unit from EU...? Would it help this thread if I got my friend to have a look in his Australian unit for NDATA/USER folders and post them here???
  2. Hey mate, did you ever get any answers?? I'm asking the same questions...
  3. Hello, I'm an Aussie DIY guy, with a broken foot, so at the moment I have loads of time, but not a lot of $$... I'm wondering, is it possible to convert overseas models of these receivers to use in different countries, without losing things like Nav or radio?? Reason I ask is that the cheapest I can find a unit here is $1400 and I can get one from the U.S. landed for under $400. I'd obviously rather go the U.S. version, but then the maps will obviously be for places I've never been and I'm guessing the radio frequencies would be different over there. I've searched this forum
  4. Hey guys and thanks for this opportunity to be part of yet another great forum. I'm going all out on my sound system and decided to run something like the f940BT in my car, but they are $1500 here and I keep seeing refurbished models and even brand new ones overseas for heaps cheaper. My question is: Can I convert, say, a U.S. model receiver to use in Australia?? Many thanks in advance and Iook forward to befriending many of you, while the missus complains "I wish you showed as much attention to me as that car"...
  5. Hey Michael. Did you end up deciding on getting a unit from overseas? I'm currently looking at this option and have no idea whether it's viable or not. Just found this site and only a week ago, the exact model I'm after went for the price I was looking for, shattered. Anyway, guess I'll see you around this site
