  1. I am not positive, but if the downgrade is the same for the D3 and D2 then the following link might help. It worked on my D3 after a bad update. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... =downgrade
  2. Make sure you have the switch on the right side of the remote set to AVH. You should hear a beep sound with each number entered for the password.
  3. You might read the following thread; it might help. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... =downgrade
  4. I had the same problem and called pioneer and they wanted 200 dollars to fix it. Apparently it does not matter what is wrong with it, they charge the same amount. I ordered the remote and luckily the downgrade worked for me. I read in another thread about the people found below on ebay and they were impressed with them and the price. I was going to give them a call if the downgrade was not going to work; 200 dollars seemed kind of high when re-flashing takes about 2 minutes to do. Good Luck! 5. I finally fixed my GPS after ordering the CD-R22 remote and following the downgrade instructions. The only thing I would add to the instructions is that there is a switch on the right of the remote that changes the function from DVD to TV to AVH; you have to have the AVH function selected in order to put the password in since the numbers won't work otherwise. You will know the numbers are being entered because it will make a beeping sound with each number.
  6. I tried both memorex and verbatim. I wonder if the write speed of the disk matters? Both brands I used were 2.4X. Maybe I should try the 8X; any thoughts? Did anybody get any brand of 2.4X speed disks to work?
  7. Anyone know the answer to the following scenerio? I was able to burn the iso and it seemed to update fine in my D3 (ie said "update completed" and showed the correct version) and the navigation even worked for a while, then all of a sudden I got the "insert appropriate disk" message. I've tried different brands of disks and burn programs at different speeds. Still nothing, in fact, it seems like the more disks I try the worse it gets. My question is once it says it has updated completely and you start getting the above message are you pretty much screwed and have to downgrade to the ori
  8. dbnichols, Are you getting that message after downgrading to the original disks and trying to get the original disk to be recognized? Also, I don't think the bypass effects the up/downgrade.
  9. dbnichols, Did you find this thread? http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... =downgrade It should work with the D series, but you must have the remote. The directions sound pretty much the same exept you have to use a keypad instead of a joystick. I am waiting on my remote to come in the mail. I talked with someone who has a D3 and it worked for them. Good Luck
  10. I have also used videora without any problems, and it is easy to use.

  12. I also downloaded the two iso's and had some difficulties as well. I initially used memorex dvd's and used 3 of them and could not get any of them to burn past 50 percent. I them bought some verbatim disks and was able to burn the east and wesk iso's using Imgburn. When I inserted the west disk into my d3, it seemed to be updating fine, it even said update complete and showed the new map version after resetting. After a few minutes of the map being displayed, it locked up and displayed "insert appropriate disk". I tried resetting several times, but nothing helped. I tried the new east di
  13. I am also having the problem with my d3 getting the "Insert Appropriate Disk" message on the west disk (the new east disk works fine). If I don't have the remote to downgrade the version, if I was to buy the originals from Pioneer would that fix the problem?
  14. I just hooked up the vss wire in my 07 pathfinder. I used pin 6 on instrument cluster harness. If you look hard you can seen numbers at each corner of harness telling which way to count. You can get the harness by pulling the dash away from around the cluster. The harness plugs into the top of the cluster. I was not able to unplug the that way. You might have better luck. I ended up having to take off most of the dash on the drivers side to get to the cluster housing. You have to start by taking the panel off under the steering wheel and working your way up. I am getting a good speed
