  1. Just curious...has anyone tried using a thermal paste like arctic silver 5 for the N2 bypass? Update - nevermind...I thought it actually had a high metallic content but I was wrong.
  2. Just got it back last night. I removed the bypass before I sent it in, but it was pretty obvious that I had bypassed it. They didn't say anything about it and the only thing I had to pay for was the shipping there... Just an FYI for anyone in the future.
  3. That really sucks... Sorry to hear. It really sounds like the flex cable issue of the N1's and N2's, but that shouldn't be an issue on the N3's. I would say you should research the flex cable anyway and read the stickied thread in this forum topic (link to thread). You might find some useful info if you read that full thread.
  4. You can replace it yourself if you want or have someone else do it - there is a store on ebay selling these cables and I think also offering repair service. The stickied thread in this forum topic has all that in it if you can find the time to read thru the whole thread (linky - http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1651) I just sent mine in the end of last week. I removed the bypass, but its pretty obvious that it was done. I'll post what happens with mine as I find out.
  5. Whats the turn-around time on the flex cable upgrade service? I just sent mine in yesterday and I'm already missing it... I had an old stereo to put in for the time being, but the radio stations here SUCK and I don't have XM on that deck.
  6. My 2 cents... I have an N2 that was updated with 70MTP discs. I burned both 80MT discs, it reads the west disc but says incorrect disc (or whatever when it tries to update. However the east disc updated just fine. After that, it reads the west disc for navigation just fine. Just an FYI...
  7. So could pudge force a downgrade to the disc's he has? Or is it just better to make pioneer fix it? I'm sure its on this site somewhere, but I found this tut on downgrading without a remote by ballerinstaller on the12volt.com (I'm sure he's on this site too) - http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~71531~PN~0~TPN~9
