I had researched this enough to know that, so I still have not installed it into my head unit. I am going to attempt to make a back up image of later today if I can make time. Thanks!

Thank you I will purchase a usb sd card reader today and boot up linux mint and hopefully it works. Will report back!

Once you put it in your unit it will lock the card and you won’t be able to do any other thing with it like create an image.

When I received my new sd card, I used Linux Mint with an external card reader that plugged into a usb port to create an image file that I then put that image on a Sandisk 16gb card. Windows will not read that card because it is an android program. Now I suppose you could get some program for Windows to read that card but I am no computer guru so I don’t know Linux Mint work great for me.

Hello, I purchased a new sd card and would like to back it up before I insert it into my head unit. Windows does not seem to recognize it when using my internal sd card reader and when booting into linux the OS doesnt have the correct drivers to even utilize my internal sd card reader.... Is there a way to accomplish this on Windows? I am very tech savvy, just do not know a ton about all the ins and outs of what Pioneer has going on with these stupid sd cards. If it would register in windows I would be able to easily create a .img file but that is the part I am confused on why it wont

I just purchased a new sd card and havent inserted it into my radio yet, trying to figure out how to make an image from it but not having any luck. I have the same head unit as you. If someone can tell me what to do I will gladly share my image.

Just wondering how have you got your usb hooked up. I bought an ipod input cable ipod/usb and there's a male and female usb halfway down one cord and it doesn't pick up my phone or anything else plugged in. And the ipod only works when the usb male and female are connected. Seems odd

Hello friends. Is there a way to unlock a previously flashed SD card after being inserted into the player? I have an AVH-Z9250BT with boot issues, I flashed an SD card with the 4400nex firmware, and it boot perfectly, every functions works fine, except the AM-FM Radio, I tried to reflash the SD with another firmware, but it apear Access Denied error, and I can't format or reflash the same memory. I'll apreciate any help

I have a four year old AVIC 8600 NEX unit, and a Sirius subscription that hasn't had any problems. Suddenly this week, the icon is greyed out, and inaccessible. The Sirius settings are inaccessible, etc. Everything else seems to work, and I can play Sirius through Bluetooth from my phone, but obviously that's not the goal. Satellite seems to work (I can access mapping). Sirius refreshed the signal, does nothing. They are no help. I'm comfortable removing the unit, and if I need to replace the sirius receiver, I can prob do that, but I'd prefer to try everything else first. Ideas?

Hello, I do not have the tool you have that switches the illumination and power supply on or off. But will that be okay if I connect the wires to a power supply generator and use a breadboard to give certain ground and voltages to the specific wires? I am thinking of creating a simple switch-button circuit for the illumination
