  1. I've searched and searched, Google, Pioneer, Bing, Yahoo, This forum. And I can't for sh*t find any update files. I did use the search bar in this forum as well and all I find are year old threads or dead links. Have the "update failed" screen. I can get it to the "updating" screen via USB stick and the "8000nex" update file from pioneers website, but unzipping the files reveals a "5000nex" file inside. Renaming the file from 5000 to 8000 does nothing. Any NEW help would be appreciated. F
  2. I have a 2000 Ford Excursion. I am installing a AVIC-8000nex. I am looking for some tips on installing this product. I am using a Metra 70-1771 wiring harness to plug into my factory harness. I am not using a backup cam at the moment. I am still trying to decide which camera to use if anybody has any suggestions. I have heard about grounding out the parking brake to get video to work while in motion.
  3. Hello, My installation appointment is tomorrow! I will post pics of how the dash currently looks, prior to the upgrade to the almighty 8000NEX... Behold the ugliness of all those buttons/knobs, and the retro CD-Changer on the glove box. Yes, that is in fact a cd changer, not a DVD changer...
  4. As a fairly new owner of an 8000NEX, I wanted to share my first impressions of the AppRadio Live app. Overall, I like the look and function of the app. The interface is clean and it's fairly easy to navigate. It seems a bit limited right now, and I wish the other AppRadio apps and main Radio functions could be accessed directly from this new space. The main issue that I have right now is the intermittent connection issues each time I plug my iPhone up. Sometimes it connects, and sometimes I am stuck on the screen asking me to make sure my phone is not locked (it is not) and I have an
  5. Here's the backstory: I had a Z-120BT and got frustrated with its lag (always seemed that I was already at the intersection when it would tell me that the intersection was coming) and how it routed (literally got to a destination once and it had me go around the block "just because"). Swapped out to an AVS-X8500BHS because I thought that it would be the best of both worlds between an AppRadio and a DVD receiver. WRONG. AppMode stinks and Car Media Player for the AVR is even worse (have to use the touchscreen to skip tracks instead of being able to use the head unit's hard keys). And I com
  6. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and am planning to buy an AVIC 8000NEX. The generic instructions say I need a Pioneer CD-AH200C Android adapter as well as the Samsung MHL-to-HDMI adapter. That's a big honkin' rat's nest of wires and plugs to stuff under your dash or in your center console. Call me naive, but why do I even need the CD-AH200C? Can't I just connect a standard HDMI cable and a standard USB cable from the Samsung adapter box to the corresponding ports on the back of the 8000NEX? The only thing I can think of is the 8000NEX does not provide charging current to charge the phone v
  7. I just bought the AVIC-8000NEX and I cannot wait to install it but I have an AppRadio3 (SPH-DA210), I had the AppRadio2 and I just swapped the unit without additional wiring changes. Do you think I would be able to do the same on the AVIC-8000NEX? Does it need special wiring? The setup I have right now has a switch that bypasses the handbreak and I already saw the thread with the software bypass. I have the steering wheel controls working on the AppRadio3 but nothing as fancy as what I have seen the iDatalink - Maestro seems to do. Will I be able to do the same as before or the shops
