I got an avic-d3 for christmas and have a question as this is my first nav unit. It has an east and west disk, so if I live in the east Tennessee and want to travel to the west California, how does this work?
Thanks.

Just means at some point during the trip, you'll have to switch to the west disk. No big deal, really. I doubt you'll be making a trip like that very often, right?

not very often
yeah switching disk is no prob. So basicly if you are starting in the east you can set a final destination in the west, you just have to switch disk. At first I thought you were just confined to the east or west but I see now. You can still map it but like you said at some point you just switch disk and continue ![]()
Thanks.
Ya, if you are travelling on major freeways, it will likely get you all the way to CA. The problem is, if you want food or gas along the way, you will have to put in the west coast disk to search for it
