I just got my Avic d3 installed three days ago and as soon as i pulled out the lot the radio just shut off... after taking it apart the installer said it blew a fuse... cool but 24 hours later it did the same thing so i was wondering if anybody has encountered this problem and how might i fix this because driving with no music totally SUCKS!!! Thanks in advance....

If it keeps blowing fuses, and it wasn't blowing fuses with the previous radio, they hooked something up incorrectly. Go back and have them go over the wiring until they find what they did wrong. You paid them to install a working unit, not one that blows the fuse whenever you use it.

Thats what i said!! but its not the car fuse its the fuse in the back of the d3??

Well if it's the fuse in the D3 that's blowing, it could have an internal short. If all the wiring checks out OK, your D3 could have an internal short, which should be covered by the warranty.

The guys who installed it (Spade Kreations) said its something to do with the internal speakers because there is a factory amp and the deck is 4 ohm and the speakers are 2 ohm so its blowing the fuse in the back my deck. So i don't know whether to change the speakers or run a new amp to power the system

If there's a factory amp, the ohms of the rear speakers shouldn't matter, because the factory amp powers them, not the D3.

It could possibly be that the D3 is putting more power through the rear speaker outputs than the factory amp was meant to handle. If that's the case, you're gonna have to buy new rear speakers and wire the D3 directly to them, bypassing the factory amp.

So what kind of car are we talking about here?

Exactly what i figured but thanks alot i think im just gonna change all speakers and either run em with a 4 channel or thru the d3 it self.. I drive a 05 Altima without bose... I'm totally clueless when it comes to this i'm only a cpu tech.. What would you do and the speaker price isn't a problem because i work at best buy
