i was reading on another forum, could low voltage cause the dvd error?? i have the radio hooked up to a 12v power suppy.i know i was installing a under the seat dvd player in my suburban and ran the battery down.the dvd player would work fine when the motor was running but not with just the switch on.

A 12volt power supply is more than enough to bench test. I've used drill batteries when nothing better is laying around
