does anyone know the colors for hooking up the speed wire and reverse in a impala ss? can the speed wire be hooked up to tach wire?

yes, run the wire from the tach and it'll work.

Yeah it'll work great. As soon as you start the car the avic will think you're moving. And if you rev the engine forget it. It'll think you're doing mach 1.

What year is the impala?

its a 94...the 95,96 had it in the radio harness but 94 never had that feature.i was told it a green with white strip.but where??

Reverse Lights LIGHT GREEN (+) AT GEAR SELECT SWITCH

My guess this is either at the shifter or the trans. If it's at the trans, then it might be easier for you to just run back to the taillights and tap there.

i wired it to my speedometer tach and it works great.

I'm going with batman on this one.i have been told the same thing by several people NOT to use the tach wire.it will work but will not be accurate.
