Ok so my D-3 has a hard drive right ? Can I put music on it ?:oops:

The D3 does not have a hard drive in it.

Is there any way to add an external HD. Like a Western Digital Hard drive.

Yes, but the interface is so horrible that it's just not worth doing. What I (and just about everyone else here would) suggest is to buy an ipod and the CD-I200 cable and you'll be set.

I have that for the ipod. I am just looking to maximize the deck.

OK. Just don't bother going the USB adapter/hard drive route. I just plain blows. Besides, you don't really need it if you have the ipod hooked up.

Yeah I suppose. I was just looking for some method to view pics on the deck with out using the ipod.

does anyone have specifics on why hooking up a hard drive external via usb is bad? im asking because i cannot afford an ipod right now but have an external laptop hdd that would be perfect for the d3.

Because Pioneer didn't put much time, money, or effort into developing the interface for it.

yea thats the best way to go since the resolution from the 6" screen isnt that far bigger than the ipods the videos look great when encoded right. also i suggest everyone use a 5 gen or lower ipod, unless theres been a workaround for the 5.5 "Classics" to work in video mode.

Classics, and all current ipods are 6th gen, so the video doesn't work. 5.5 gen work great though
