I saw something posted in another forum about using the ipod cable from your HU to plug into Apple's "Universal Dock" (It has an encryption chip in it) then plug you ipod into that.

Has anyone tried this?

In the other forums people where able to watch tv using this method.

Not that I'm aware of. IIRC, It was discovered that you can play the videos if you just turn off shuffle and roll back the ipod classic's firmware to 1.0.2 anyway.

Well, it makes sense that it would work.

Hehe, I asked the same question in another thread and I see the poster in my thread that tried it out responded to yours as well. The consensus is it is a no go on trying that out. Just get a 5th generation while they are still around. I finally just bought one off the apple web site, brand new. They still have them under the clearance section for the 30GB for $179. Everyone says this is really a better ipod than the classic is anyways. Just my 2 cents.
