Hello fellow AVIC Testers!

I just got my D3 installed and running great!

I did notice last night that the DVD quality was so so at best. Has anyone calibrated there DVD player and care to share what the settings you ended up with for the best picture?

Thanks again!

How do you go about calibrating the DVD player?

There are various ways (special dvds or even hardware devices)

I see there are all kinds of color settings for it, out of the box the picture looks very pixelated and washed out.

I think he means what video settings get the best picture. I tweaked my contrast and color a bit. I just paused a video and kept tweaking the settings till I liked what I saw.

I don't know how you would get pixelated pictures from a production DVD. I just watched "Serenity" on DVD from my D3 a few weeks ago, and didn't see one pixel.

If it's from a dvd that you burned, the screen ration may be off, or the encoding program may be the cause.

Try turning up the brightness/contrast. It will make it more vivid. As for the pixelation, I've never seen it. Maybe like he said up there, if it's a DVD you made, it could just be a bad video or the wrong screen ratio.
