I just received my D3 and was trying to bench test it. I'm using a 12v radio shack power supply. I connected the ground wire to my -, and the battery cable to the +. No effect whatsoever.

The fuse is good.

Are there any other required connections to be able to test it, or did I get a bad unit?

There's two power wires. The constant power wire (BATT) and the switched power wire (ACC). You have to hook both of them up to the +

Yes, that was it. Still have to do the bypass to check all other functions, but

I have no reason to think there's anything amiss anymore.
