Will the Z2 fit in an 2004 CR-V EX?

Crutchfield's website says it won't fit but Circuit City's website says it will. I called Fry's and they said it will fit also.

Has anyone installed this in their CR-V? If so, please let me know if there are any issues with the installation.

I know I will need a wiring harness, but I was told from Circuit City that I wouldn't need the double din kit, because the car is already double din.

I did a search on this forum and the posts discussing this, but didn't find this exact situation. In one of the other posts, one member said that Crutchfield told them it wouldn't fit because the stock unit is not a true double din. Although, they also said that the AVIC-D1 wouldn't fit, and a member installed it without any problems. I'm thinking it is the same for the z2, but am unsure.

Thanks!

Well the install is done and it fits perfectly. There is no problems at all and it looks very clean. I don't believe there was any customization needed either. I have no idea why Crutchfields website says it does not fit.

The extra stuff I had to use for the install was a harness and the outside trim out of the Metra 99-7801 install kit. :)

At least this question is now answered for future search results.

They say it doesn't because they (crotchfilled) don't carry the 7801
