I've noticed that traffic incidents, such as accidents and lane closures, show up on my routes from time to time but the N2 does not route around them or even notify of them unless they are in a section of highway that includes traffic flow information. Is this the correct behavior for this unit?
N2 nav re-routing question
It is the way it works. When you plan a route, it will, if the xm nav covers the area, will ask to re-route you. If your not driving on a planned route it will just show you that there is an accident or construction, exc.

Is it just me or does anyone else think this is worthless? Having an unhacked unit, I can't even display the list of traffic incidents while moving so if I see an icon on the road I'm traveling, I can't determine the exact location or direction that is affected unless I stop.
So this leads to the question: are the newer models smarter? I understand that traffic flow data relies on the local infrastructure to provide data and may never happen even on major highways, no fault to Navtraffic. But my local travel area (mostly in and between Phila and NYC) has almost complete incident coverage on the major and minor highways and Pioneer is not using this information except to throw up a mostly useless icon on my screen. I'm thinking about getting an N4 for my new car but if Pioneer isn't advancing the software I'll just move my N2.
Well, its the best out there right now. It will tell you there is traffic up a head if it is on your planned route. If not it will show up as an icon and if you hit the Traffic button on your screen, you can scroll and see where the traffic is. I would have to agree, that for the price it should be better. But it is the best out there right now, so until anything better comes out, I'll deal with it.

Why not just bypass your deck so you can do it while driving? I pull up the list of traffic accidents every day so I know which freeways to avoid on the way to/from work. Worth every penny and more in my opinion
I'm beginning to think the bypass is a good idea. I didn't want to do it while the unit was under warranty and haven't pulled it from my dash since. I just got a voice command unit that I need to install so I have to anyway.
Thanks for the feedback.
