Hi all,

It shows that the "upgrade software" is available. CNDV-700HD...Is this true? Can it be used on more than one unit? Does it have to be installed by a dealer? Does this software turn a Z1 into a Z2? What exactly is updated?

Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.

As always, thank you all in advance,

Steve

It can only be used once. It updates the mapping, POI, and adds some 3D icons.

At this point, if you are going to pay the $250, you may as well wait 4-6 months and get the disk that upgrades it to a Z3

Thanks! I dont even see a need to upgrade it then if it only updates roads, etc...Seems like maybe a once in 5 year proposition as the infrastructure doesnt change that frequently...

Thanks for the good info!

Buy a new HDD, load the Z2 image on and you have a Z2.

Is there any way to back up the old hard drive for reloading on the new HDD so that you don't have to reload music and go through the process again of modifying track names, etc, after putting in one of the new HDDs?

well, some places like las vegas or any other place that has new structure/housing, construction going on CONSTANTLY... you definitely need to keep updated!!!

i have a z1 and A LOT of POI and roads don't even exist in the z1 but is around here (vegas)!

how much would the new Z3 upgrade CD be and when exactly is it coming out?

until then, is our only option that link you posted (manual upgrade) or buy a $250 cd?

Will the upgraded CD change the by-pass I have installed on my Z1? Right now I have the 2 grounds by-pass.
