ok i got my Z2 installed its a GREAT system but when i hooked up my VSS wire it constantly says initializing rather then 3d hybrid. everything is correct and the vss wire has been confirmed correct.

i called pioneer and they said it seems to be an issue with the hardware. i can replace it for free since it is still under warranty since i only got it a month ago and just installed it a week ago.

problem is since i bought it off ebay i did not get it from an authorized retailer and the warranty would not be valid. so i need some help please.

PREFERABLY a RECEIPT FROM CANADA.

got a couple questions.

1 when did u get your z2?

2 did u buy it from an authorized dealer?

3 does it have a serial number on the reciept

4 if you got it recently and from an auth dealer and no serial number can u please email me the receipt as i have found a glitch in my system and need it to be replaced but need a receipt since i purchased mine off ebay.

if you can help please do as i spent alot of money on this and would love to have my 3d hybrid working so i can have full use of my system.

not going to happen, pioneer already knows where your unit was sold anyways. and i doubt anyone that has had the sense to buy from a legit retailer (to get the warranty) would risk loosing their warranty by giving it to you.

Reading over your problem briefly, i could be wrong and have known to be in the past but it might be normal.. might need some time to set up.

i was going to buy it from best buy get the reciept and just send it to pioneer like that but not sure if it will work. as for the problem it has been 2 or 3 weeks and noting has changed it keeps saying irregular speed pulse but i know its hooked properly. i had auth pioneer installers check it.

correct wire? what car ? you might get away if you buy at big retailer that doesnt track serial number, but shaddy thing would be to just return the bad one in its place then, no use going through the headache of sending to pioneer, just tell retailer its defective and youve lost confidence in the product if its bad out of the box

i have a gmc canyon 2005 and they have tested it and said it is the only wire that is VSS on my truck and the wire is functioning correctly. i was planning on not even opening the box from bestbuy just copy the reciept and send it to pioneer which is like 20min form my house.

I guess i can call them yet again with there really bad service they offer. and tell them that i installed it 2 weeks ago and it has been tested and VSS wire is correct and that i called tech support and they said to send it in to get repaired/replaced.

my concern is i got it off ebay and they might say well first i live in canada and i got it from the US second i got it off ebay?

any suggestions?

May not be the problem, but here's my 2 cents.

My VSS wasn't working with the system either. I took a second look at my connection and it appears that I didn't clamp down enough on the metal piece that taps the wire. So I got my pliers out and gave it another good squeeze or two and got it to work.

It may be something as simple as that, but maybe not.

I bought all my avic's via eBay; I’ve sent two of them for repair to the Ohio address. The avic-n3 for the door wouldn’t come out and the avic-z2 for the touch panel. All I’ve told them that they were a gift and that is acceptable as long as the manufacture’s date is within on year.

WOW very helpful i wasnt aware that i could just state it was a gift THAT COULD SOLVE MY ISSUE THANKS SOOO MUCH.

ok so i called today and got the same annoying dude i always get that cant speak english. DAMN THEIR service sucks. anyway i told him i got it as a gift and didnt have a reciept i told him what the issue was he said i still need a reciept i told him does that make any sense first it was a gift second if it was manufactured in aug or sept of 2007 it is obviously in warranty caus ei couldnt of bought it before it was manufactured then he's like ya ur right stopped talking then mumbed then said still u need a receit what kinda bullshit is that. DAMN I HATE THEIR SERVICE.
