I once installed Avic-D1 in Jetta 2000 and it would turn off when I pulled key out of ignition, I now have Jetta 2006 and I have problem, When I pull out key it stays on, and never closes, I put wires to corresponding colors like before and its not working...

What should I do ???

Thanks

David

Try switching the two power wires. Sounds to me like you have the constant power wire hooked up to the ACC (switched) lead on the unit.

I tried that already and still it comes on when key is not in ignition?

What could it be ??

The ONLY way for the unit to be powered on while the car is not turned on is if the ACC wire on the unit is receiving constant power. Find a source of power that is only on when the ignition is on and hook it up to the unit's ACC wire. There HAS to be a switched power wire behind the radio somewhere. Check all the power wires for continuity and find the one that has 12 volts when the car is on, and nothing when the car is off, and hook it up to the unit's ACC input.

My 06 F-150 would do that. All I had to do was open the door and then it would go off. It had a 10min play time when the truck was off. :D

Try one of the 3 bypass sticky topics at the top of the "Hacks/Mods: D-Series" board.
