my mic doesnt seem to pick up sound much, people cant hear me on the other end. I have it mounted in the factory location in an audi but its mounted horizontal. Any suggestions? i thought about using the factory mic, but not sure how well it would work with the d3

Yes its directional. And it also has noise cancellation so the back should be exposed too
