Has anyone tried using the ip bus cable to Ipod or Iphone? Just wondering if the Iphone can be controlled in Z1 since they're both touchscreen interface?

Not nearly in the way that you want it to.

It acts as an ipod, nothing more.

Wish we could bring it up on the screen like Steve Jobs does during keynotes.. Imagine being able to see the controls of the iphone on the screen and touching it like you do now.. Surfing the web, reading email, watching videos... If apple gave us flash we wouldn't need anything else..
