The center one is always the same. The left and right you can change to one of like six other choices

Posted Jan 22, 2008 · 20:32 UTC#3

You can also change the nav background that shows behing the guages.

how do you get the gauges to show? i stumbled upon it at one point when messing around, but since then nothing.

While on the map screen, hit map and then select vehicle dynamics

I think he mans how to change the look of the gauges. There's like 10 different gauge styles on the nav disk. I myself have yet to find how to change it from the default guage look. But I haven't really tried that hard either.

Gauges? What kind of guages? I don't remember seeing anything like that in the spec sheets.

There's a folder on the nav disk with about 10 different gauge overlays that I'm guessing you can select from, but I've never figured out how to change it from the default one.

Yeah that'lll happen. By the way there's actuall 5 different gauge overlays. If you look at the file names the ones that end in 'N' are night time versions.

Makes sense, I guess. Any idea on how to select them?

Posted Jan 31, 2008 · 15:21 UTC#13

In the menu that allows you to select different gauges to display, there's a button that says modify look or something like that. That's where you can change the gauge overlays.

I have no idea how I missed that... I've played around with the menus for like an hour, on more than one occasion trying to find it. So when you bring up the gauges, and you touch the gauge display it's there along with the options for what you want the gauges to display? If that's true, I owe myself a nice kick in the ass.

Don't feel bad. I bet there are a lot people out there that had no idea either. I'm one of them. You learn something everyday.

That's good info to know.

Thanks.

I can answer this mystery!! All you have to do is, when you bring up the vehicle dynamics, you just tap the screen on the left side (i tapped right in the middle of the compass) and there is a whole list of options. One of which lets you change the guage style.

Funny, I was just reading this thread and was wondering the same thing but had never given it much thought. But there you go, mystery solved!

Jesus. I haven't looked at this thread in like two weeks. What I should have said back then is READ THE FUCKIN MANUAL!!! Come on guys

Posted Feb 10, 2008 · 15:35 UTC#18

wow! You are an asshole! :P

Posted Feb 10, 2008 · 20:46 UTC#19

Why, because I pointed out that this conversation would've been over with a ten second download of the manual instead of a two week, two page thread on here? Oh well, I can live with that

What the OP wants to do is mod the background. Make them different then what is available. How is what you answered.......right?

What the OP wants to do is not available in the manual. I don't understand why you gotta blow up on people.

TO THE OP: I'm sure there is a way to make new gauge backgrounds but i don't have the knowledge to do that.

hey , you seem to be pretty smart with the avic's around here ...

question on the gauges ... i heard a rumor ... i dont know how trueee this is .

is there a way to ADD gauges ... i.e. instead of just the volate or clock or acceleration let's say ... i want to add my turbo boost gauge somehow ??

someone told me that someone once did that , but i could be mistaken .

in any event , are there any gauge ADD-ON's available ??

Thanks .

ya these are what i was talking about. i just need to sit down and actually mess with this and the book once it gets warm

While I knew these were there, and how to get to them, I had no clue that they changed at night. I don't use them often, and those nighttime versions look better than the daytime.

+1 for something new e'ry day!
