I'm about to trade my 06 f-150 off for a 08 and I was wondering if the 08 has the same radio harness as the 06?

Yep everything is the same, though vss might not be in the radio harness on the 08, dont remember for sure.

VSS Wire: ABS MODULE DRIVERS FENDER WELL ONLY YELLOW/BLUE WIRE

I'm guessing that means the kick panel at the bottom by the door?

Nope, that's under the hood right by the brake booster on the driver's side

I deal with brand new fords all the time, you wouldn't beleive the number of times I say that or FUCKING FORDS.

hehe, Since you deal with them maybe you can help me with this also, whats the best place to get through the firewall to get to this wire? My 06 has seals on all the holes or there's to many cables going out a hole to get anymore through it.

If I remember the firewall right, to the left of the gas pedal there's a cable that goes through the firewall. the grommet is ginormous. Make a slit and you're thrugh. I'll try and snap a pic on the next one that comes through

thanks! Also since it sounds like you install these things, what mount are you using? :?: I'm using the one Cfeild sent me but it doesn't work to well though.

95-5812. Depending on how old the kit is, it might not come with the spacers you need to get the kit just right. If it doesn't have those spacers, then a trip to the hardware store for some 1/4" spacers will work.

that's it

Posted Jan 23, 2008 · 03:55 UTC#13

sweet thanks! I think I'm going to try the 1/4" spacers since I have the other parts..

I'm also guess the spacers go behind the radio mounts that hold it to the dash? If so, I tried this but my screws wasn't long enough, ha.

Yeah, you'll also need longer screws.

Posted Jan 23, 2008 · 04:02 UTC#15

well crap! Last time I trust Cfeild on giving me everything I needed! haha

I would say stop by your local audio shop & chat with an installer to see if he would give ya 4 screws & a few spacers instead of buying a huge box from big box for a little job.

good idea, since he prolly would know of what size screws I need for this then I would! haha.

You may need a new harness with a data module. Most newer Fords do not have acc power anymore, it's ran through data like the vss wire.

I haven't seen an 08 f150 with a data turn on radio yet.
