I noticed after loading a background onto my D3 that it looked badly posterized, suggesting that the D3 was down-sampling the color depth of the picture. Does anyone know how many colors the D3's screen is actually capable of displaying so that I can do this in advance to improve the results?

I'm actually curious about this as well because the images I just loaded look extremely different from how they do on the computer / in Photoshop.
