It has been working fine, and all of the sudden, i plugged it in and nothing happend. I came inside and synced it to my computer and that went fine. went back out to the truck and nothing happend. is there a setting that i could have changed by accident or do i need to pull out the radio and see whats going on?

The cable could have come loose from the back of the unit.

Second vote for the loose or damaged cable.

I checked the back of the unit and the cable is plugged in properly, i guess that means the cable is bad?

There's no settings on the D3 that would cause the ipod to stop working entirely. If the ipod works fine by itself, there's only two links in the chain that can be faulty. The ipod cable, and the D3. I'd try workin' on the cheaper one first.

Reset the IPOD. Then if that doesn't work, reset the D3.
