I recently just installed the microphone for my Avic N2 by plugging the microphone directly into the back of my AVIC n2 headunit (is this the correct way?)

Now, is there a specific option that I need to turn on for it to work? Because it isn't working...

you could make sure that voice recognition is enabled..

It doesnt plug into the jack on the back of the unit itselfthat is for an external speaker to another unit. There are two black wires comming out of the back and one is marked MIC. Plug it in here. You should see a voice icon on your screen. You will have to press the voice button on your remote to initiate each voice command.
