So I just purchased the AVIC-Z1 GPS/DVD unit. It is on the way right now (I don't have it yet).

My question is this:
The stock Sirius Satalite unit in my '06 F150 is already installed. Do I need a wiring harness to hook that unit up to the AVIC-Z1 or do I have to buy the one that they sell with that stereo?

Thanks in advance for the help.

you'll have to get the pioneer sirius tuner. The factory ford tuner will not work with the z1.

I don't have an answer to your question but I wanted to mention that if you are considering a CD changer or iPod adapter in the future you will probably need to buy the Pioneer Sirius module. The bus connections on the Pioneer Sirius module have both input and output. I know with the stock XM box I had on my truck, there was only output. If you are considering only Sirius and Z1 that I can't answer...hopefully someone else can help you.

the model # for the sirius tuner is SIRPNR2 - this is the current model that will give you more than just the channel number - still not as nice as the XM tuner (graphics for all the stations) but it works.
