I have a 6 month old Z2 (bought from a guy here) that had been bypassed and has a Sirius tuner..hooked it up and it has work flawlessly..I saw the info on the update for the freezing/lockup firmware update..BUT I thought..it isn't broke so I shouldn't mess with it.. Well today when I went to lunch the radio was playing fine and I look down and its STILL on the PIONEER flash screen..after about 4-5 mins of driving..I was like..ok..now what? I was thinking well maybe it will go back to normal after I turn the truck off..nope..still froze up. I looked here and went to the pioneer website and downloaded the update..put it on a CD_R just like the directions said and I gave it a shot..after 12 mins I waited and nothing..So I turned it off(music stopped after I loaded the disc) and I was kinda lost as to what to do next..

I also have a Z1 in another vehicle and I was like..ok I will try to do the update on the Z1 to see if I put it on the CD-R disc..downloaded and save it to the disc just as I did for the Z2 update loaded it in the Z1 and waited for a min (like pioneer said) and it just said (cd-rom disc) and didn't do anything. I am assuming I must have done something wrong on both disc. Dunno what exactly.

So am I a day late and dollar short on loading the update disc in my Z2 that seems to be frozen or locked? what are my options? I also hit the reset button that did nothing..and pushed and held the MAP button to no avail.. I am LOST!

ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in Advance.

Let it cool off overnight and then try again. Also make sure you are burning and finalizing the disks properly. The fix works/has worked for hundreds if not thousands on here so keep at it
