RCA Issue (2006 Mustang)

I can get my AVIC-D3 to play through the speaker outs, but when I connect my amp (DLS A7) and use the RCA's I can't get any sound. The amp powers on, but there is no sound from the speakers. When I connect my old radio (Alpine CDA-9857) I get sound from the speakers.

I've checked all of the connections, searched this forum, and read lots of post. Still to no avail I can't get my brand new AVIC-D3 to play sound through my amp. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Schoolyard

the alpine plays via the rca connection?

are you sure your not connecting anything other then rca? maybe mute? maybe not connecting remote properly?

For info on the RCA leads and non-fading output, check pages 119, 122, and 123 in the manual.

sounds like a remote turn-on issue. possibly using the power antenna control wire?!?!? or maybe your non-fader output is turned down on the audio controls.

Thanks for the replies. I have checked all of the connections and they are connected properly. The amp remote is connected properly and it does turn the amp on, but I don't get any sound. The mute wire is not connected to anything. The unit functions properly in all other areas (NAVI, DVD, IPOD, CD etc.) except when I connect the amp.

Problem solved! :D It was the wiring harness. I had a new wiring harness laying around and decided to use it and come to find out it's no good. I disconnected my old one and everything functioned just fine. Thanks for all of your help. Great site
