i need help locating the vss and the reverse so i can tap into them. i don't know where to plug the pink and the violet with white. i have and 02 mustang with the mach 460 in it
02 Mustang Install
Reverse Light black/pink + 26 pin plug, pin 20 at GEM
The GEM (Generic Electronic Module) is located above the driver kick panel
Speed Sense white/orange pin 68 at PCM
The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is located behind the passenger kick panel
do i have to disconnect the whole computer then pull it out to find that cable the mach 460 has a white orange cable in one of the plugs that was for my factory stereo but no longer using it with the avic d3 can that one be it?
my 02 factory radio did have the feature when the car went faster the volume went up so can it be that white orange cable in the original wiring harness?
no, you dont disconnect it. you can test that wire in the radio harness to see if its the same wire
how do i do that
what about the reverse one is it under the steering wheel column
can i hope it is that white and orange cable and just tap into it or is that to dangerous.
its actually one of the few wires that arent dangerous because the avic only reads that wire. it doesnt output anything to it. so if its the wrong one it just doest work. no harm done. but your still better off testing it with a voltmeter or a computer safe test light anyway
It is possible, but not likely. If it has three plugs (besides the antenna) then it may. It would be a more squarish plug between the power/speaker harness and the subwoofer harness.
Also, the dash may look like a tight fit top to bottom, but the D3 will fit right in. It looks great in the dash of my 2001 Mustang Bullitt, so I am probably biased.
so the plug that im not using on my factory radio has a white/orange and 2Xblue/red cables that are not hooking up to my avic. is the reverse really necessary if im not using a reverse camera
no, not at all
i dont have a meter to test that cable i think im going to take my chances
