hi guys, new pioneer z1 owner here, just bought a car equipped with one.

it didn't come with any instruction manual or anything. it seems like a VERy cool unit.

can you activate the NAV and the other control units by your voice? if so how do you go abouts doing so? i dont' know if i have a mic hooked up or not...

i was curious if it came with a built in MIC in the head unit or is that something you have to install separately outside of the unit?

thanks for any help!

It should've come with a seperate mic. You can download the manual and learn all about your deck at:

thanks i will read up on it! so if it came with an external mic, where do you usually install it or where did you install yours?

ok i guess i do have a mic with the system. how do you activate it so that the z1 unit receives your voice commands?

tap the icon on the screen

which icon on the screen? i see the face with the vocal icon but that seems to be just the voice for the nav system.

The manual is about 100 pages long. We can't begin to answer all your questions here. Take a couple of evenings and read the manual then come back with any questions. But the manual will answer most of your questions.

Pioneer has been having web site issues the last few days. It's been quite annoying actually.
