D3 Bypass Problem

Hey guys,

I finished installing my D3 with no problems at all. EXCEPT ONE.

The bypass that I got from AVCI411 is not working for me and I'm 100% positive I did it correctly

The steps I took were as follows:

1. Remove yellow mute wire from harness and place it one spot directly above.

2. Ground both Parking Brake Wire and MUTE wire.

But unfortunately its still not working. I heard something about installing a TOGGLE SWITCH but I couldnt find anything on this site through the SEARCH.

Anybody know about this toggle switch, if so, can you let me know where to connect it?...

THANK YOU

You don't need a toggle switch, you just did something wrong. Double check your grounds are solid, double check that the wire you moved is firmly seated in the hole and making good contact with the pin, etc.

There are literally thousands of these done exactly the way described, and they all work fine

make sure you didnt break the pin of the mute wire when you moved it

I installed my D3 last night ... ByPass instructions worked perfectly.

You said you switched and grounded your yellow wire, all that I have read indicates you should have done this to a yellow / black wire. Was this a typo or did you do the wrong wire?

its really not that hard people

Move pin

connect to black wire

Connect green wire to blac wire

Connect black wire to metal

and voila

I have not found a need to bypass yet. However, if I end up moving my iPOD location and I am already back there, I may as well do it. I am now just starting to play with the custom backgrounds. I matched my button colors quite easily.

Bluetooth is workin' like a charm.
