I know this happens in hot weather but, it happened to me yesterday and it was 35 degrees outside. I let the car sit all night and went back out just now to try, and it still will not go past the boot screen. everything was working fine yesterday, until i went to run an errand yesterday evening and the z1 would not boot, and has not since then. I downloaded the freeze up firmware fix off of pioneer's website, but the z1 will not boot at all so i don't think i can load it until it boots. I also tried resetting it, but that did nothing, still will not boot up. any ideas or help with this would be greatly appreciated.

by the way if it helps at all the music still plays, the unit just does not boot. what i have read is it is usually from heat or overheating, but it cant be overheated still after sitting in a 55 degree garage all night.

ok it finally booted up, and i installed the disk. but it went through the whole thing and said the update failed and it is restarting, and it will stay in this continuous loop. I saw another thread where the same thing happened to a z2, and the OP waited a few hours and it worked, so i will try this too and see if it works. what would cause it to do this? is there anything I can try to get it to work or just wait and see what happens.

Just be patient. Try it again tomorrow morning after it has had all night to cool off
